Nature — the environment around us — in its true essence joyfully supports us in our choices, experiences, and learning. Spots that carry special qualities are also part of nature. They remind us of our inner beauty and grandness — and when we consciously connect with them, they serve as keys that unlock dormant qualities within us.
Just as our human essence can be covered with many layers and defense mechanisms, the same can be reflected in the spaces around us — whether it is an apartment, house, garden, village, city, or landscape. The energetic imprints of events that happened in a place are also recorded there. If those events were traumatic — meaning that people acted out of harmony with nature and/or others, and were unable to process or accept what happened — the space holds energetic blockages, stagnant energies that prevent it from fully expressing itself.
Such a space cannot truly support its inhabitants, and the people living there may experience unease, stagnation, or obstacles.
Through an artwork that is deeply connected to the essence of the place and to the people who live there, the wholeness of the space can be supported. A field is created where the space can transcend old stagnant energies, heal, express itself, and fully support its inhabitants.
Such an artwork can also help bring awareness to the special qualities of a place and make them more accessible to those who live there.
This approach to designing and carving such an artwork was developed by the Slovenian artist Marko Pogačnik, UNESCO Artist for Peace.
How does the process unfold?
I first visit the space and connect with it to sense its qualities or possible challenges. Then, I speak with the residents to hear what feels important to them.
In the following days, I create a drawing — a carving design — which I then present to the customer.
The stone into which I carve the unique pattern — specific to each place — stores the information through its mineral structure and radiates it into the surroundings through its vibration.
If the stone is large and requires machinery to move, I carve it on-site, where it will be placed. A smaller stone that can be moved manually can be carved in my own workshop.
The price is set individually as every stone and circumstances are unique.
